Selling my Saab convertible

After a long time back. A lot happened, mostly good things. But unfortunately I have to sell my Saab, here is the description.

Other: FWD, 6-gear manual, tyres 235/45/R17 ALU71, color black metallic, (Jet Black, 298)

Equipment: it's an Aero, so nearly fully equipped. Important things:

- performance upgrade (Hirsch), interior upgrade (Hirsch and Maptun)
- automatic air condition + heated front seats
- ABS, ESP, traction control
- CD, radio, GPS, touchscreen, AUX, Saab Infotainment Plus 300 (GPS, 10 speakers, 300W)
- Xenon lights, fog lights, rear spoiler, tempomat, ALU wheels, power seats, power windows rear parking sensors, rain sensor. soft-top, windscreen
- Anniversary Package (anniversary full leather seats + some design details)

Complete equipment list 

Short history:
Saab fan car in a great condition, serviced in a Saab center by skilled people. Parked in a heated garage and driven with care. Regular service stops 15.000km or a year. All parts Saab genuine, used oil Mobil 1 0W-40.

Imported from Berlin in autumn 2010 with 39.000km. The first year it was a daily car, the rest a weekend or trip car.

FAQ:

Why do I sell it ?
I have a 3.5 years old daughter, I am spending all my free time with the family. The car is located in Bratislava, Slovakia, EU.

What was upgraded:
The first owner installed a Hirsch Performance upgrade, I have a TÜV certificate for it. Specifications here.

Over the years I've upgraded the interior. Hirsch parts – carbon-leather dashboard, originally from Independence Edition, the strip on the glove box, center console and door handles. It has a front strut brace in the engine compartment and an upgraded steering wheel, both from Maptun. The windscreen is included.

Fuel economy:
Official numbers are 10.6 l/100km combined (7.6 outside, 15.7 in the city). In long-term reality it is outside always higher (8-9) and in the city always lower (11-12), so the combined number is correct. Of course it depends on the driving style.

Failures and reliability:
It had never a serious failure, nothing critical was changed. It's pretty reliable. After a longer trip the stone kisses on the bonnet were too much and also I've got a stone into the windshield, so I've let repaint the bonnet (Saab Suchomel, Czech Republic) and changed the windshield. It still has a stone kiss in the left rear brake light.

Other: 
The Saab was mostly cleaned contactless. Interior space: we (2 people) had no problems to pack everything for a 10-day vacation and drive a part of the road with the roof down. There is space in the trunk as well as on the rear seats.

História:
Fanúšikovské auto vo výbornom stave, servisované u ľudí, čo vedia. Pravidelný servis 15.000km alebo rok. Šoférované s citom. Všetko originál diely, olej Mobil 1 0W-40.

Doviezol som ho z Berlína na jeseň 2010 s 39.000km, odvtedy ho mám. Celý čas garážovaný vo vykurovanej garáži. Prvý rok som jazdil iba na ňom, ďalšie roky víkendovka alebo na výlety.

FAQ:

Prečo ho predávam:
Mám malú dcérku a trávim väčšinu voľného času s rodinou. Navyše mám problém s chrbtom, ktorý mi nedovoľuje príliš dlho sedieť a tak skončili dlhšie cabrio tripy. Auto je v Bratislave.

Čo bolo upgradnuté:
Pôvodný majiteľ upgradol software na Hirsch Performance, hneď pri kúpe nového Saaba, mám na to TÜV certifikát. Tu sú parametre.

Postupne som upgradol vnútro, od Hirscha: palubovka (zo série Independence Edition), lišta pred spolujazdcom, konzola medzi sedadlami, úchytky vo dverách, všetko carbon-leather alebo koža. Ďalej Saab dostal vzperu do motorového priestoru, čo výrazne zvýšilo stabilitu a nový kožený volant, oboje od Maptun. Prikúpil som veternú clonu.

Spotreba:
Výrobca píše 10.6 l/100km kombinovanú (7.6 vonku, 15.7 v meste). V realite je vonku viac (8-9), v meste menej (11-12), kombinovaná cca sedí. Samozrejme záleží od šoféra, akú má ťažkú nohu.

Kazí sa?
Nič vážne sa nikdy nepokazilo a nebolo menené. Po jednej dlhšej ceste škrabance od kamienkov na kapote presiahli únosnú mieru, navyše som jeden dostal do predného skla, tak som nechal prelakovať kapotu (Saab Suchomel, Ústí nad Orlicí) a vymeniť predné sklo. Má prasklinu od kamienka na ľavom zadnom svetle.


Ostatné:
Posledné roky čistený iba bezdotykovo. Miesto na batožinu: má miesto v kufri a na zadných sedadlách, zbalili sme sa vo dvojici na 10-dňovú dovolenku a jazdili so strechou dole.

Kurze Geschichte:
Saab Fan Auto in sehr guten Zustand. Service nur in einer (ex) authorisierten Fachwerkstatt von Mechanikern die wissen was sie tun. Geparkt in beheizten Garage und vorsichtig gefahren. Regelmäßige Service stops 15.000km oder ein Jahr. Alle Teile von Saab, Öl Mobil 1.

Importiert aus Berlin in Herbst 2010 mit 39.000km. Das erste Jahr war es ein Tagesauto, danach nur Wochenenden oder Ausflüge.

FAQ:

Warum verkaufe ich den Saab ? 
Ich habe eine 3 Jahre junge Tochter und verbringe die meiste Zeit mir der Familie. Ausserdem hatte ich Probleme mit der Wirbelsäule, seitdem kann ich nicht mehr zu lange sitzen, d.h. Ende der langen Cabriofahrten. Der Saab ist in Bratislava, Slowakei.

Upgrades:
Der erste inhaber hatte die Software von Hirsch Performance einbauen lassen, ich habe ein TÜV Zertifikat. Spezifikation hier.

Über die Jahre erweiterte den Innenraum - carbon-leather dashboard, ursprünglich von der Independence Edition, der Streifen an den Handschuhfach, die Zentralkonsole und die Türgriffe. Ausserhalb bekam der Saab eine Federbeinbrücke (front strut brace) und ein Lederlenkrad, beide von Maptun. Auch die Windschotte kam.

Verbrauch:
Offizielle Nummern sind 10.6 l/100km kombiniert (7.6 außerorts , 15.7 innerorts). In der Realität war ausserorts ein bischen mehr (8-9) und innerorts ein bischen weniger (11-12), so kombiniert stimmt. Es hängt natürlich sehr auf dem Fahrstil.

Fehler und Verlässligkeit:  
Der Saab hatte niemals einen seriösen Fehler, nichts kritisches wurde ausgewechselt. Nach einer längeren Fahrt waren die Spuren von Steinschlägen zuviel und ich habe auch ein Steinchen in die Windschutzscheibe bekommen, so liess ich die Haube neu lakieren (Saab Suchomel, Tschechische Republik) und die Windschutzscheibe wechseln. Es hat einen kleinen Steinschlag in den hinteren rechten Licht.

Anderes: 
Ich habe meistens contactless Reinigung benutzt. Innenraum: wir (2 Leute) haben ohne Probleme für einen einwöchigen Urlaub gepackt und ohne Dach gefahren, es ist genug Platz im Kofferraum und auf den hinteren Sitzen.

Saab Session Slovakia 2015

I just couldn't resist. Or, better said, I had to find time and save energy for this event. And it was a good decision. Saab Session Slovakia started 3 years ago with ~50 cars. Now it was 90+. In the time, when the Saab infection is weaker and weaker, this thing grows.

There were slovaks, czechs, polish and swiss guys, germans... even a lady from Brazil. Somehow. There were people driving for this event 10-12 hours, with relatively new Saabs but also 40 years old Saabs. What to say... this event is now rooted in the map of the european Saab events. In the small and strange country of Slovakia. A 2.5 days event. Wow.

Simon Stålenhag



The paintings of Simon Stålenhag are strange retrofuturistic snapshots into an imaginary world. Often, the hi-tek machines, are dead and rosty and industry from our age still works. As if he would say, don't rush into the future, things can get complicated, but I admit, it's too speculative. I've got from the paintings a very raw feeling as being in a desert.

He's a Swede, on the paintings are also cars. Saab as well. I found three of them, there are maybe more.

Saab Support Convoy Czech Republic and Slovakia 2015

On 17.1.2010 the first Saab Support Convoy started. It was basically a peaceful demonstration again GMs idea to close Saab completely. The idea was, that it happens at the same time all around the world, in places where Saabs have fans and fanclubs. About 6000 Saabs worldwide appeared at the first anniversary.

The rest is history, which, fortunately still continues. Somehow. At least.

This year it was the 5-th anniversary of the SSC. It was one of the few opportunities to see the known faces and friends in one place, so I couldn't resist. Also it was in Southern Moravia, which I absolutely love. Beautiful countryside. About 100 km far, which is nothing. And one of the best wine area in Europe.

The cooperation of Saabunderground.cz and Saab Club Slovakia worked again perfectly. About 40-50 cars appeared. Looking forward for the next year.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Dear friends and readers. I've got a couple of "why you stopped to write the blog" questions. My ego was smiling, however things have changed. I have a new love:



She's Alexandra, now 5 months young and absolutely loved by everybody who appears nearby. She's smiling and laughing, recently started to "comment" things and she steered my life towards things that really matter.

But my Saab is in the garage and it still continues to send the "drive, drive" signals. And I follow them. Much less, then before, but still quite often.

It was the case for today. In the last years, the Christmas are without snow. The climate is warming and I ask myself if we, the car drivers, are not at least partially guilty of this. We might be, but nobody answered this completely reliable. Anyway, today it was a sunny 13°C day here in Slovakia and I couldn't resist the signals from the garage. Roof down of course.

 I wish you a relaxed and happy Christmas days and only the best for 2015. The next year will be good. Without any doubt. See you next year at Saabism.

Saab Session Slovakia 2014



This is one of the busiest times I've ever experienced in my life. The neverending flu, which I hoped to be at the end before this year's the Saab Session. Of course it was not. A new and very strange GM in my daily job, making me think about, that I am too old for listening to incompetent managers.

But the smile of my newborn daughter gives me a energy for fight with all this every morning. Our private web project seen by 100.000+ people per month gets a smartphone version (app is there for long time). My first work on a smartphone dedicated website, I am proud of it. Many evenings and nights of work are behind it. We're searching for an investor to open new cities.

These are the things holding me off the blog for a while.

The Saab Session Slovakia 2014 has a nice headline at the end: "70 cars from 7 countries". It growed again a bit. Good mood was there all the time. All people from the scene were present. The place - Banska Stiavnica is beautiful. A success. Although I could be there only a couple of hours instead of the whole 2.5 days, here are some photos.
